Seedream 5 is ByteDance’s image model, available on Ochra for text-to-image and for image editing. It is the current Seedream release, carrying the family’s cinematic colour rendering and its wide choice of frame shape, and it is content-filtered where the earlier 4.x line was not.

What is different about Seedream 5
- The current release, and the one to reach for unless you have a reason to pin an older version.

Yes. Seedream 5 and 5 Pro apply a content filter; the 4.x releases do not. If a prompt is refused, the 4.x line or a different family is where it will run.
